Bug Bond
The first and most successful alternative to epoxy - a tack free UV cured resin giving a clear hard finish to fly bodies, backs, heads or any other part you think appropriate. Please contact via phone or email to confirm availability of the liquid, torches and nozzels. A little resin is squeezed on to the fly, spread with a dubbing needle as required and cured with 2 or 3 bursts of UV light from from one of the approved UV torches. I prefer to then put the flies on a hard surface, such as a china saucer, and leave it in sunlight for 30 minutes to finally cure the surface to the hard clear finish I require. The resins can also be used to cover knots or braid, for repairing or sticking on rings or general maintenance operations. The Standard product is suitable for most uses from buzzers up but if you wish a finer layer the lower viscosity Lite product is for you. Both resins should be stored in a domestic refrigerator at about 5 degrees C. They should be allowed to warm up to ambiant temperature before use.

Cauteriser
A battery operated tool that has a heated element used for a variety of purposes such as bending legs, shaping/trimming hair, fur and feathers or for cleaning hook eyes. Oliver Edwards popularised the use of this tool which is most versatile. Sometimes it is enough to move the heated element close to the material being used rather than touching it to have the desired effect. Permanent Marker Pens
A pack of 10 permanent marker pens made by Letraset specifically for the fly tying market. The colours have been chosen to meet the needs of flies for fresh and salt water. The permanent ink can be used for colouring a range of natural and synthetic products and can be used to build up layers of colour. Each pen has two tips - a broad and a narrow one to meet all requirements. The colours included are: black, henna, ruby, orange, canary, lime green, olive green, ice grey, cyan, prussian. Stick on Eyes
An excellent addition to sea and pike flies - and many conventional lures and nymphs. The eyes give flies an additional appeal and target point for predatory fish to home in on. The eyes have a silver background with a large black centre/pupil covered with a clear bright epoxy type material giving a domed shape. The backing is self adhesive. Doll Eyes
Domed eyes with a coloured background and a floating black pupil that moves within the eye as it is shaken. There are 36 eyes per pack which need to be glued in place (recommended FlyTek superglue, liquid or thick depending on the absorbency of the background). Fly Rattles
Ball bearings in sealed glass tubes that make an interesting and irresistable (?) noise when gently shaken. The rattle is tied to the shank of the hook (above or below as suits the fly) and is incorpoprated in the body materials. The 3mm rattle has 3 balls in each tube, the 4mm rattle 2 and the 5mm rattle 1 only. The larger the diameter of the ball the larger the diameter of the glass tube; all the tubes are approximately 24mm long. The larger the size of the balls the greater the noise. The rattles make flies for larger predators in fresh and salt water that bit distinctive. Each pack has 10 rattles in it.

Plastazote Blocks
Blocks of Plastazote, 6in. x 3in. x 1in. in a range of colours. Plastazote is a tight closed cell foam that floats really well. High Tack Pearl Embossed Minnow Foam
Buoyant foam sheets, 2 mm thick, with an embossed pearl finish on one side and a strong permanent self adhesive on the other.
